KLM’s award-winning premium comfort class meals equipment in partnership with deSter

Recently our customer KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced the win of  The Points Guy Award for Best Premium Economy Class, which was launched in 2022. At deSter, we are incredibly proud to be a part of this launch with eco-friendly and reusable tableware equipment created in collaboration with KLM. Together we aimed to enhance the passenger experience and reduce air travel’s environmental impact at the same time.

KLM is now using a reusable PP tray in conjunction with their current ICA-M tray. LowHi material bowls made from sustainable materials provide a practical and environmentally conscious solution. The stainless steel cutlery completes the premium dining experience while keeping sustainability in mind.

In addition, deSter is supplying KLM with their premium comfort class amenity kits, made from recycled ocean plastic and with a dual function as a laundry bag. The same design concept is reflected in the napkin band, amenity kits, and even the lids of the bowls, showcasing the beautiful landscapes of Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, KLM’s home base.

“We at deSter, feel privileged that we have been able to work together with KLM on developing their beautiful Premium Comfort Class product. We are proud to see that the product is noticed, recognized and appreciated in the airline market.” – Vincent Allaerts, Senior Business Development Manager at deSter.

As KLM’s partner we are excited to bring this sustainable solution to their passengers and contribute to a greener future in air travel!
