Bringing Finnish design to the onboard dining experience
Challenge
Finnair wanted to create a distinctive tableware collection for its long-haul Business Class and Premium Economy cabins that would reflect the airline’s Nordic identity while meeting the operational demands of onboard service.
The challenge was to combine iconic design, durability and sustainability in a collection capable of enhancing the passenger dining experience without compromising functionality.
Solution
To bring Finnair’s vision to life, deSter collaborated with renowned Finnish design brand Iittala, designer Harri Koskinen and tableware manufacturer Schönwald to develop the Kuulas collection.
The range includes plates, bowls, cups and glassware designed to balance premium aesthetics with operational requirements such as durability, stackability and efficient use of onboard space.
