deSter is excited to announce that we won no less than four TravelPlus Awards 2024, celebrated in Hamburg at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo on Tuesday 28th of May. Among them was the Premium Economy: Bag / Kit Award for our KLM Amenity Kit.
A sell-out ceremony of the TravelPlus Awards 2024, held during the WTCE, brought together airlines, suppliers and luminaries from the passenger amenities industry, onboard caterers and technology providers to both network and of course celebrate.
deSter collaborated with KLM to introduce a sustainable amenity kit for Premium Economy Class. The kit is crafted using REPREVE® Our Ocean™ fabrics, sourced from recycled plastic bottles, salvaging ocean-bound plastics from developing countries. By using these materials, KLM is taking a step towards minimising its environmental impact on the planet.
The bags not only serve as a place to store all your flight essentials, but they double as laundry bags. This feature is essential in curbing micro-plastic pollution by containing synthetic fibre laundry.
The kits feature bamboo toothbrushes from Bamboovement and toothpaste tablets from Happy Tabs. Bamboovement’s brushes contribute to tree planting initiatives, while Happy Tabs’ tablets combat plastic tube waste, offering a sustainable oral care solution.
