In a world shaped by environmental challenges, rapid technological changes and an increasing focus on wellbeing, travel has become much more than simply going from point A to B. Today’s traveler’s expect journeys that nurture their mental, physical, and emotional health.
deSter’s 2026 WTCE theme, *Care Fueled Journeys* responds to this evolving mindset by offering an exhibition filled with intentional solutions and thoughtful innovations.
Presented through three thematic lenses—Abundance, Ease, and Appreciation—this program invites airlines to explore how care can truly fuel every aspect of the traveler’s journey.
Through these carefully curated experiences, deSter connects the industry with inspiring visions redefining the meaning of a journey well traveled.
The objects a passenger touches are the care they feel. We design the moments that tell them: you are seen, you are comfortable, you are home.
Abundance: overflowing care and comfort
Confidence through completeness — designed so travelers always feel provided for.
A reimagining of maximalism at altitude. This is the zone of “Total Care”—where every need is met before it is even articulated. It is an unapologetic tapestry of history and wit, designed to overwhelm the senses in the most sophisticated manner possible.
Ease: simplifying your travel moments
Ease designed in — when everything flows, worry fades.
Streamlined, intuitive processes that reduce stress and make travel seamless. Nature-inspired object, forms, colors.
A deliberate departure from the clinical lexicon of airlines. The designs feel as though they have always existed, with the aim of minimizing anxiety by making journeys predictable and manageable.
Appreciation: small gestures, lasting connections
Every touchpoint says: we see you, we value you.
Restraint applied with absolute conviction. This zone is a testament to the “Signature Service”—an environment where every object has earned its place through sheer excellence. It is designed for the passenger who seeks clarity over clamor and refinement over display.
“The objects a passenger touches are the care they feel. We design the moments that tell them: you are seen, you are comfortable, you are home.”

Keynote: The New Language of Care in Travel by Gert Voorjans
In this special WTCE keynote, celebrated designer Gert Voorjans explores how color, materiality and atmosphere can influence our sense of comfort and wellbeing. While his work spans hotels, boutiques, homes and cultural spaces, the principles he shares are universal: environments shape emotion. Through his creative lens, he reveals how thoughtful design choices — from textures to tones to transitions — can subtly transform the traveler experience and help redefine what a journey “well traveled” can feel like.
